Energy Tower Renovation

Project Overview

For the renovation of Energy Tower II, Contract Fabricating Services fabricated and installed the architectural steel that defines the building’s new arrival experience, from a sculptural feature stair in the lobby to curved entry canopies outside. The renovation turned a standard office tower entrance into a modern, hospitality-style front door, and our steel is the framework behind its most visible elements.

Our Scope

Lobby feature stair: A curved monumental stair framed in steel and finished in wood cladding with glass guardrails, serving as the centerpiece of the renovated lobby.
Entry canopy: A steel canopy structure supporting a slatted louver system over the main entrance, carried on a slender round column with a radiused leading edge.
Curved canopy and soffit framing: Steel framing following the rounded corner of the new glass storefront, supporting the metal fascia and wood-finish soffit above the entry.
Field installation: Our crews erected and fit the canopy and stair steel on site, coordinating with the glazing, cladding, and finish trades that followed.

The Challenge

Nearly every element on this project was curved. Radiused canopy edges, a rounded storefront, and a curving feature stair all required precisely rolled and fabricated steel, with almost no tolerance for error. The glass, metal panels, and wood finishes installed over our steel would show any deviation immediately. All of it had to be built within an occupied office tower, keeping tenants moving safely through the building while work continued around them.

The Result

A completed renovation delivered in May 2026 that gives Energy Tower II a polished, contemporary arrival experience. Clean curves, finished surfaces, and architectural steel that disappears into the design are exactly what a renovation like this demands.
